One Bible and two Gods?

I suspect that most people who have read both the Old Testament and the New Testament have wondered, at least once, what happened to God? Did he change somewhere between the two testaments? Is the God of the Old Testament the same God as the one in the New Testament?

I’m going to defer to Piper for this one, as he addressed this question on Desiring God’s website a couple days ago. To see what he wrote, click here.  If for some reason you decide not to click through to that page, here’s the short of it: we are presently living in a window of God’s mercy, but that window is going to close soon, and then the OT picks up again in a book we call Revelation.

In other words, actually in Jesus’ words, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Remember, the window is not going to stay open indefinitely.
