Opiate of the masses?

TV

I found this “political cartoon” in a newspaper years ago and held on to it.  I rediscovered it today and thought that it deserved a post, especially considering several earlier posts on this blog.

Want to hear something staggering?

By the time the average American reaches the age of 72 they will have spent 13 years watching television.  Thirteen years.  Four and a half hours per day.  I’m not making that up – you can google it yourself or check this out.  If you own a TV, I challenge you to turn it off and think for a short while about what you could do with an extra thirteen years of “spare” time.  Better to think that through now, instead of at the end of your days when it’s too late to do anything about it.
